Put together a new mix today. For some reason, this one gave me a little trouble. I’m listening back to it now, and it certainly doesn’t sound bad. I found my track selection to be spot on for what I was going for; just something about the actual process fought back. Even with perfect matching of key, beat, and volume, sometimes songs just wouldn’t sound right. If I had to guess, I overthought things, so I’m glad I ended up recording it because, as I said, it doesn’t sound too bad.

It’s got kind of a funky lounge vibe. I was listening to some new releases, and two of them caught my attention: the opening track, “Water,” and the now-popular “Diskoteca” by Bhaskar & Mojjo. I basically tossed those two into a new crate and built around them.

About halfway through selecting songs, I had to remind myself that I make these for running. With that in mind, I’m hoping this gets me through some miles with a little funky head bob.
